About this course

Welcome to Expanding Your Developer Toolkit! At this point, you should know the basics of what is required to develop on Shopify, from theme to custom app development. While we’ve mentioned more advanced tools like Shopify Flow and Shopify Functions in passing, this course will give you a high-level overview of many different advanced tools available for specific client requests. After we cover what’s possible with Shopify’s advanced tooling, we’ll cover the main ecommerce pillars Shopify supports, and some extensions that are specific to each business model. 

By the end of this course, you’ll have the tools and knowledge to:

  • List a few common use cases and benefits of using advanced tools including the app bridge, Polaris, Flow Functions, ShopifyQL, Web Pixels, and Headless. 
  • Choose extensions specific to D2C, B2B, and Retail that can be customized to suit specific industry needs.
  • Navigate the different resources Shopify maintains to keep its dev audience informed of changes, such as the changelog, Editions, and Community.
