About this learning path

This series of free courses are designed to guide you in analyzing, visualizing, and planning solutions with Shopify when a need arises to turn business requirements into technical solutions. By the end of this learning path, you’ll be able to analyze businesses to identify their technical needs and goals, visualize technology integrations and processes, and identify key parts of technical implementation to aid in creating a solution.

There are no prerequisite skills or courses for the Solution Planning Fundamentals learning path. However, it’s recommended that you are familiar with the Shopify platform and its features. You can take the Introduction to Shopify course for a high level overview of Shopify and its platform.

Assessment details

  • A score of 80% will earn a Shopify Verified Skills badge shareable via Credly.
  • The assessment consists of 40 scored questions and will take approximately 60 minutes to complete. There is no time limit for the assessment.
  • Assessments may contain up to 10 additional unscored questions that do not impact your results. These are inserted randomly into the assessment to gather data for future testing.
  • Badges are valid for two years from the date of successful completion.

  • Define implementation planning when using Shopify
  • Assess a businesses' ecommerce state to create a proposed solution for stakeholders
  • Respond effectively to common late-stage objections to a proposed project 

Visualizing technical solutions: 25%

  • Define enterprise, business, and integration architecture diagrams and how they are used in implementation planning
  • Explain how to expand architecture diagrams to reflect a future business state

Technical implementation planning: 47%

  • Select appropriate Shopify APIs required for a simple integration
  • Identify points of customization and extension for Shopify to address technical needs
  • Describe uses for a simple dev store MVP that can be shared with stakeholders
